FAQS
1.   WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE FISHING EVENT YOU'VE COMPETED IN THROUGH THE YEARS?

Without question, the 02/28/2004 Bass Champs North Team Event on Cedar Creek. 1st event of the year and what a turn out! That was and I believe still is to date the largest regular season event held by Bass Champs. With 325 teams participating, my partner and I finished 2nd! My partner that day was my wife! She wanted to fish an event with me for a while so to be able to do well under those conditions and share it with my partner in life, well was just a blessing. It's a memory we both cherish and often talk about.

2.   WHAT'S A FAVORITE QUOTE YOU'VE HEARD REGARDING BASS FISHING THAT YOU LIKE?
I heard a fellow on stage upon receiving an AOTY Award with his partner state that finding a good fishing partner is harder than finding a good wife. Don't know where that line originated from, but Scott Dean was the angler I heard it from 1st on that day.

3.   WHAT'S BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE FISH YOU'VE CAUGHT IN COMPETITION?
10/07/2006 - Lake Limestone Bass Champs Championship, 1st Day. With just 4 fish in the livewell and only 10 actual minutes left to check in, we were 4 miles away from check in point. Call it angler intuition but I decided to turn 90 degrees and cut through a stump field on plane to get to a lone boat dock. My partner was yelling, "Robby, there's no time! What are you doing?!" We get to the dock and Rob jumps up and casts a blade to the leading edge post and WHAM! I'm netting a 2 1/2 pounder to finish out our limit. The look on his face and all along repeating, "Oh my Lord", and watching him shake his head as we ran back through and over that stump field without incident to arrive for check in with mere seconds to spare was simply priceless.

4.   MOST FISHERMEN WEAR LOGOS OF COMPANY NAMES WITHIN THE FISHING INDUSTRY, BUT I NOTICE YOU SOMETIMES WEARING ADIDAS JACKETS, HATS, ETC. MY QUESTION IS WHY PROMOTE THEM WHEN THEY DON'T SPONSOR FISHERMEN AT ANY LEVEL?

I'm very grateful for our present day sponsors, but we have to think ahead also. I believe the future of our sport's growth lies in the hands of corporate giants getting involved on a much broader scale than we presently see.

Contrary to what we see on TV, by and large, our pros are struggling to make ends meet. We can support them at the grass roots level by encouraging larger companies to give them support. It starts with each and every one of us.

5.   HI ROBBY. YOU PROBABLY DON'T REMEMBER ME, BUT YOU SPOKE TO OUR CHURCH'S YOUTH GROUP ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO. MY DAD AND I ARE STARTING TO FISH CLUB TOURNAMENTS TOGETHER AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU WILL SPEAK TO OUR CLUB AT ONE OF OUR MEETINGS? ALSO MY DAD AND I HAVE FOLLOWED YOUR FISHING SINCE WE MET YOU. WE NOTICED IN ONE ARTICLE, A PHOTO WHEN YOU WON A TOURNAMENT ON LAKE LEWISVILLE 3 YEARS AGO. IN THE PHOTO YOU HAVE A HAT ON WITH THE INITIAL, J.P. I'M JUST CURIOUS, WHAT THEY STAND FOR? ALSO CONGRATS FOR ANOTHER WIN ON LAKE LEWISVILLE AND CEDAR CREEK LAKE.

Thanks Trevor. I am available to speak to clubs here in the D/FW area. Just have your club president contact me. Bass Fishing clubs are a great way to learn and are some of the most enjoyable times on the water I can remember. I started fishing with my Dad as well.

He went home to be with the Lord in '99, but I appreciate everyday we had together. Cherish your time with your Dad, Trevor. He'll teach you a lot, not just about fishing.

The initials J.P. are in memory of a young boy named Jackson Plumlee. He's the son of a fellow tournament angler. Jackson had recently been taken from us in an accident. My family and I wanted to show the Plumlee's our support in even the smallest of ways. Jackson's parents, Scott and Tina actually attended the event. I remember looking out from the stage and noticing them both standing next to my wife and children. It really served as a reminder for me to always keep things in their proper perspective. It was an honor to present Scott with the 1st Place plaque symbolizing our support for them as parents, anglers, and most important, an extended family through Christ.
